Meet Educate Tomorrow
This month, Educate Tomorrow was featured in the Client Spotlight section of QuarterCompany’s monthly newsletter.
Educate Tomorrow’s mission is to create independence for at-risk and foster youth through education, mentoring, and life skills training. The program serves a neglected population – youth and young adults, ages 15-23, who are current or former foster youth of Miami-Dade County. No other organization provides mentoring for foster youth ages 14-23. Educate Tomorrow has developed a tri-partite, holistic program composed of one-on-one educational mentoring, life skills retreats, and in-school support. The cornerstone of the program is one-on-one educational mentoring. Volunteers from the community are matched with a youth seeking a mentor and commit to spend one year guiding the youth to complete his or her education.
Educate Tomorrow’s program was recently selected as a “Model with Promise” in The American Way of Change, Shirley Sagawa (2010). If you are interested in mentoring, call Program Director Erica French at 305-374-3751, or for more information on the organization, visit www.educatetomorrow.org.
